There are some great works going on in Israel and it is good to be able to meet some local people and find out what is actually going on in the Land of Israel, which will give a very different picture to the media!
Why not visit an ambulance station? MIB Travel's founder, Revd Mark K Madeley, is President of Christian Friends of Magen David Adom - the Israeli ambulance service. Over 85% of its staff are volunteers from many backgrounds -Jewish, Arab, Muslim, Christian, Druze etc. They all work together and absolutely anyone of any background or religion is treated by them. They work closely too with the Palestinian Red Crescent. By volunteers and patients being made up of every religion and background, they are really providing peace and reconciliation
Their vehicles are all donated, as there is no equivalent of the NHS in Israel. Christian Friends of Magen David Adom, formed in 2006, want to show their care for all the people living in or visiting Israel and have so far given 7 ambulances, a lorry for collecting blood donations and they have paid for the emergency room at Kiryat Shmona to be redone.
The latest ambulances were presented at the end of September 2018 in Jerusalem to commemorate the awful Hadassah Massacre of April 1948.
